Stonewear
Designs was founded in Boulder, Colorado in 1996 to create clothing that
fit the needs of women rock climbers who wanted to get the most out of their
active wear. Stonewear sought to design clothes with the optimal blend of fit,
fashion and function that would look great and fit well on active women of all
body types. The Boulder, Colorado climbing community was our proving ground in
the early years and still is today. Keeping true to our climbing heritage,
Stonewear Designs joined forces with Great Trango Holdings, Inc. (GTHI) in 1998.
This union streamlined our warehousing, shipping, and office logistics, which in
turn allowed us to focus even more on product design and production.
NOW
Five years after joining with GTHI, we are still focused on the c lothing
needs of active women. Our inspiration has grown to include yoga and fitness in
addition to our love of climbing. In every design we develop, our ultimate goal
is to make clothing that helps women feel good about their bodies. We have
expanded to offer a Spring line, a Fall line, and a complementary accessory
line. Our products are designed and tested by an exceptional creative team and
are backed by one of the best customer service departments in the industry.
We
are part of a community and feel it is our duty to give back to and provide
inspiration to others. Stonewear Designs and GTHI are supporters of the Breast
Cancer Fund’s Climb Against the Odds –Mt., Shasta, The Luna Fest- sponsored by
Luna Bar (proceeds go to the Brest Cancer Fund), HERA Ovarian Cancer Climb for
Life, the American Bouldering Series, many local youth climbing leagues and
other local and regional rock climbing events. You will also find Stonewear
Designs at events throughout the United States, including the Yoga Journal
Conference in Boston, Massachusetts, the Phoenix Bouldering Contest, and the
International Climbers’ Festival in Lander, Wyoming.
THE FUTURE
We come to work every day excited about new innovations and opportunities
for Stonewear Designs. As we grow, we will continue to create clothing and
products that inspire and encourage active women to look and feel fantastic.
