FAQs
Q. Does the products hold liquid? (akin to does the idea hold water?)
A. The polite answer to this question, is: Yes the orikaso products have
been designed to hold liquid. The unique design brings all edges to the
same height above the base and therefore ensures that liquid can be
held. It should be noted however that the cup has a maximum filling
limit, if you fill above this limit it will leak a little.
Q. Are the products durable?
A. The products are manufactured from Polypropylene, a polymer with
special properties. Polypropylene is practically the only plastic that
can be folded without breakage, in fact the more you fold it the more
durable it becomes along the hinge. Products are practically unbreakable
(by practically I mean if you were to stick them in a food blender, or
on a fire they will cease to work, but in daily normal use you shouldn't
experience any problems).
Q. Are the products environmentally friendly?
A. Products are made from recyclable materials, any off cuts from
production prices are recycled. Polypropylene is endorsed by Greenpeace
as an alternative to PVC, plus when you burn polypropylene it gives off
carbon dioxide and water. We are an ethically motivated company, but we
sell on the products being superior to the competition.
Q. Are the products manufactured from food grade materials?
A. We manufacture our products from non-toxic food grade material using
food grade colourants and inks.
Q. Where are the products made?
A. Products are manufactured in the UK by Remploy Workscope Ltd, an
organisation dedicated to the employment of the disabled within society.
Q. Is it possible to obtain custom printed or embossed products?
A. Subject to quantities, of course.
Q. Are the products easy to clean?
A. Yes, Polypropylene is a non-stick material, plus its fold flat nature
means there are no awkward corners to clean.
Q. Are the products Dishwasher Safe?
A. Products are heat resistant to 120 Degrees Celcius, so should be
suitable for use in most dishwashers, although they're so easy to clean
your really being ultra lazy.
Q. Are the products suitable for Microwave use?
A. The cups and bowls are not suitable (cup due to fastening, bowl due
to opening under superheating), the dish has been tried in the microwave
successfully, although we haven't done enough testing to endorse
suitability. In short we're looking into it.
Q. What else you got?
A. If your looking at big orders, 40,000 units +, why not enquire about
our future "In Development" ranges. If not, watch this space.
Q. Are press studs nickel free?
A. Yes.
Q. Can I use these with hot liquids?
A. Products are heat resistant to 120 Degrees Celcius, therefore you can
use them for hot water, I wouldn't recommend boiling oil.
