One of the most important things for me is the quality of my gear. It gets me to where I want to go no matter how far or high. AAO and its brands represent what quality in the outdoors is all about. Being a part of that idea is important to me.
The thing that I love most about adventure cycling is……
It´s always humbling. Sometimes I have days on the bike when I feel I could pedal up Everest, but the next day, a mile seems like an eternity. It can chew you up and spit you out and then give you a Christmas present. It´s constantly changing, keeps me centered and makes me earn what is next.
My proudest adventure cycling related moment was……
The first time I passed1,000 miles. It was still fairly new at the time and I thought, “that´s a long way for a car!”
The Highlights of my involvement with adventure cycling include:
- Every time I hit the top of a multiple day-long mountain pass
- Eating
- Washing off in the Pacific after a long day
I am excited to be part of the AAO Ambassador/Athlete program because……
I currently use many of the products and brands AAO represents, so to have the opportunity to showcase them is a huge plus.
Some accreditations that I have are……
- Poorly spoken Spanish
- Proud uncle
Something most people don’t know about me-(that I’m O.K. with people knowing)-is…..
Sometimes I am incredibly afraid of heights and I’m a ridiculous Wisconsin football fan.
My favorite food is……
Scrambled eggs with broccoli and spinach or a good medium-rare burger. Oh and Coffee!
My biggest addiction is…….
Throwing things and Espn.com
Free Range…
Being in the middle of nowhere on a bike with no real aim but south is an absolutely freeing thing. Point A to Point B is concrete, but the distance in between is what moves you.
